The beginnings of our garden

We're planting a garden again this year, but it will at least double, if not triple the size as last year. I also have an herb garden along the back and side of the house that we are working on putting in paver stones to edge it out so it looks nice and manicured.

The herb garden will consist of Italian parsley, chives, rosemary, oregano, sage, peppermint, cilantro, thyme and basil. At the end of summer, I will dry a lot of these herbs to last me through the winter (I have a food dehydrator). It saves a ton of money!

As for the veggie garden, here is what I have slated: sweet corn, zucchini, regular cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, green bell peppers, beefsteak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, yellow wax beans, peas, broccoli, carrots, spinach, lettuce and sunflowers (to make bird food).

Here are some pics of our progress so far.
