CVS Trip (saved 96.8%)

I also had some ECB that were expiring this week so off to CVS I went! Again, as with Rite Aid, I wasn't thrilled with the sales, but I managed a scenario to get my total to $0, so all I ended up paying was tax.

Here's what I got and how I did:

2 Olay Cleansers: $5 each- (2) $2/1 MFQ= $3 each (and I earned $5 ECB)
1 Doz Eggs: $1.29
1 Gal 2% Milk: $2.19
1 Gal Whole Milk: $2.49
-$11.97 ECB (from previous transactions)

Total Shelf Cost: $20.30
My OOP: $.65 (and I earned $5 ECB)
Total Savings: $19.65 (96.8%)

Rite Aid Trip (saved 53.09%) and CVS Trip (saved 87.82%)

My percentages of savings this week aren't impressive looking, but that is because I don't include the ECBs or UPRs I earned in my savings. I wait until I spend them and then work them into coupons. That is one of my pet peeves about couponing. I don't like to count the reward you earn into calculating savings during that trip. To me, it almost fluffs it up. Don't get me wrong, when I decide what to buy, the rewards play a major role. I do, however, work the SCR into my savings, since it is in the form of cash, not a coupon good only for the store. The key to saving big at drug stores is to roll your rewards. You leave the store with $10 in rewards, come back next week, use those $10 to pay for your order, and in return earn say $15 more rewards. Then the cycle repeats itself!

Anyway, enough rambling. I haven't been to into my Rite Aid shopping lately, because I think the service at my local Rite Aid sucks. I feel like I am being profiled sometimes, and that they don't really like customers who use lots of coupons. I did have a good experience last night, though, so that was nice. I have never felt like that at CVS though.

Rite Aid Transaction:
1 box of Pampers: $19.99-$1/1 MFQ=$18.99 (plus I earned $5 UPR)
2 Pantene Conditioners: $3.50 each-$2/2 MFQ= $2.50 each
2 Oral B 3D White Manual Toothbrushes: $2.99 each - 2 BOGO Qs= Both for FREE (plus I will get back $2 SCR) (and for the above products, I earned an additional $10 UPR)
1 box Playtex Gentle Glide Tampons: $4- $2 IP= $2 (plus I earned $3 UPR)
-$5/$25 IP (use zip 19543 and change radius to 50 miles)

Total Shelf Cost: $44.92
My OOP: $21.07 (plus I earned $21 UPR)
Total Savings: $23.85 (53.09%)

CVS Transaction:
1 Brach's Candy Corn: $.99 (plus I earned $.99 ECB)
1 Nivea for Men Active 3 Body Wash: $4.99-$1/1 MFQ= $3.99 (plus I earned $4.99 ECB)
1 Nature's Way Alive Vitamins: $9.99-$1/1 IP= $8.99 (plus I earned $9.99 ECB)
1 box Tylenol Precise Heat Patches: $5.99-$2/1 IP-$2/1 CVS Q= $1.99 (plus I earned $2 ECB)
-$14 ECB (from previous transactions)

Total Shelf Cost: $27.33
My OOP: $3.33 (plus I earned $17.97 ECB)

Rite Aid Trip (average savings of 93.7%) and CVS Trip (93.92% savings)

This is the last time that I shop after the 1st day of the sale. Shelves were WIPED OUT. I had to really change around my transactions at Rite Aid, and ended up, on a whim, going to a 2nd Rite Aid to see if their stock was any better. At least that transaction turned into a moneymaker. I did, however, get a lot of stuff that we need, even though my OOP was a lot higher than I usually like it to be.

CVS Trip (saved 93.05%)

Does anyone have the Right Guard Total Defense for less than $3 at their CVS? It was over $4 at mine, and I had planned on getting 2 free with the BOGO sale and the $3/2 IP that all the matchups had planned. So I didn't get any of those, but Shaun doesn't really need any right now anyway. He's only got about 2 dozen. ;-)

Anyway, I am enjoying a kid-free afternoon since Shaun took Cora with him to go pick up Cameron (he stayed with the GParents this weekend). They won't be back till this evening, so I am enjoying my freedom! I took a trip to CVS this morning and got some great deals!

1 Dawn Hand Renewal: $.97-$.97 Q from HomeMade Simple Booklet (adjusted down)= FREE
1 Zegerid, 14 ct: $9.99-$4 MFQ= $5.99 (plus I earned $7 ECB)
1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor: $9.99-$4 MFQ= $5.99 (plus I earned $5 ECB)
1 Blink Tears: $7.99-$1 IP (for some reason it wouldn't redeem for the full amount of $1.50, but it was free after ECB anyway)= $6.99 (plus I earned $7.99)
4 Dry Idea Deodorants: FREE after BOGO Q's
3 Met RX Colossal Meal Bars: $1.24 for all (had a B2G1 CVS CRT Q, a BOGO MFQ, and they were on sale for B1G1 50% off)
-$5/$30 CVS Q
-$13 ECB (from previous transactions)

Shelf Cost: $69.51
My OOP: $4.83 (plus I earned $19.99 ECB)
Total Savings: $64.68 (93.05%)

I think it is safe to say that I like CVS so much more than Rite Aid anymore. They have never (knock on wood) given me problems with my coupons. I still have yet to try Walgreens.
