Rite Aid shopping trip (89.2% savings)

After CVS, I made my way to Rite Aid. I didn't get everything I had originally wanted to (because it didn't end up being as good of a deal as I wanted), but this experience definitely made up for my last, when they wouldn't accept my $5/$25 Q.

Here is how I did:
2- Chocolate Chex Mix ($.99+$.99-$.50 IP-$.50 IP-$1/2 VV Q= $.02 MM)
2- Dawn dish soap ($.88+$.88-$.25 MFQ-$.25 MFQ= $1.26)
Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste ($2.99-$1 MFQ-$2 SCR #3= $.01 MM)
=$1.54 OOP (89.2% savings)

I did really good at CVS today!! The only mistake I made was buying Sure deodorant without my coupon. There is a rebate to try it for free, and also an IP. I will buy another next week with the Q, then return the one I bought today, so after the rebate, I will make $.75!

Giant Eagle trip (average of 63.39% savings)

I went shopping early this week, because I needed to get a few supplies for Cameron's party on Saturday. I went through self checkout since I had 4 transactions to use all my OYNO Q's (they only allow 1 per transaction) and I hadn't yet determined how to divide it up. I thought it would be less stressful, but I ended up stressing myself out more than anything. This was my second experience with self checkout and it was not good, just like the first time. I think I'll stick with a human cashier from now on. It didn't like some of my Q's and it wouldn't accept my OYNO Q's, so I practically had a cashier standing next to me, scanning her card to override everything, so I pretty much defeated the purpose of using the self checkout. I also forgot to scan a pack of blueberries with my Cheerios (the blueberries were BOGO and an extra $1 off if you bought Cheerios). I was going to do this twice, since I was already planning on getting Cheerios and blueberries. I only remembered to do it once. Oh well. That's what happens when I get flustered! I still did pretty darn good!!

All prices list are after Q's and sales.

Transaction #1:
Solo Cups- $.75
Cheerios- $1.40
French's Mustard- $.34
4- Triscuits/Wheat Thins- $.75 each
2- No Yolks Egg Noodles- $.50 each
Potato Chips- $2.50
-$4 OYNO Q
Total OOP: $4.82, Saved: $16.18 (77.05% savings)

Transaction #2:
Large Eggs- $1.79
4- Triscuits/Wheat Thins- $.75 each
Cheerios- $1.40
Blueberries- $.99
Ice Cream- $3.34
2- Kraft shredded cheese- $1.50 each
French's Mustard- $.34
-$5 OYNO Q
Total OOP: $9.86, Saved: $9.74 (49.69% savings)

Transaction #3:
2 lb bag raw, peeled, deveined shrimp- $9.98
2 beef roasts (BOGO: $10.87+$10.71-$10.71)
-$4 OYNO Q
Total OOP: $16.85, Saved: $18.71 (52.62% savings)

Transaction #4:
Puffs tissues- $.50
2- No Yolks Egg Noodles- $.50 each
2- Breakstone Sour Cream- $.15 each
2- Juice Juice- $1.50 each
4- Triscuit/Wheat Thins- $.75 each
Promise Margarine- $1
2% Milk- $2.38
Bananas- $1.35
-$4 OYNO Q
Total OOP: $7.63, Saved $21.94 (74.2% savings)

Why so many Wheat Thins and Triscuits?? There is a rebate through Nabisco to receive $10 back when you buy 10 Nabisco products. I waited until there was an awesome sale (4/$7) and I had Qs for $1/1 (become a fan of Wheat Thins on FB) and $2/2 (You can only get this good of a deal if you have 2 computers or more, to print the Qs multiple times). I had to buy them in sets of 4 for the sale at GE (it was one of those sales with an instant $1 off when you buy all 4, otherwise they would have been 4/$8). So for 10, I paid a total of $7.50-$10 rebate= -$2.50. That is a $2.50 MM!!

Giant Eagle trip (average of 53.95% savings)

I also wasn't very happy with my trip to GE this week, since while standing in line waiting to check out, they directed me over to the self-checkout. Those things are awful! I had it beeping at me every other coupon. I got so flustered that I forgot to roll all the catalinas that printed out. The good thing is, they don't expire for a while, so they will definitely be used up. There is an awesome deal this week on Pillsbury biscuits and cinnamon rolls. You can only earn one catalina Q per transaction, though, so I did 3 separate transactions. Here's how I did:

Transaction #1:

6 Grands Jr biscuits ($.50 each)

Total OOP: $3.00, Saved $3.00 (50% savings) and I earned a $4.00 OYNO Q (essentially a $1 MM)

Transaction #2:

3 biscuits/3 cinnamon rolls (I mixed them up, trying to break up my like Q's since the self checkout beeps after 2 like Q's) (price varied since I had different Q amounts)
2 Mr. Clean pourables ($1 each)
1 Mr. Clean spray ($1)
Dawn Hand Renewal ($1.50)
Big ketchup ($3.39)
hamburger buns ($.89)
1 gal milk ($2.38)
6 gal distilled water (for our winemaking!!) ($.85 each)
maple syrup ($2.50- It was on sale, but I hate that I didn't have a Q for this, but we need it)
mushrooms (BOGO) ($1.14)
bananas ($1.10)
pears ($4.26)
apples ($1.80)
4 blocks of cheese ($1 each)

Total OOP: $31.72, Saved: $27.89 (46.79% savings) and I earned a $4 OYNO Q & $5 OYNO Q

Transaction #3:

3 biscuits/3 cinnamon rolls (price varied since I had different Q amounts)

Total OOP: $3.20, Saved: $5.96 (65.07% savings) and I earned a $4 OYNO Q

Rite Aid trip (60.14% savings)

I was NOT happy this week at ALL. The cashier scanned all my coupons, and then told me she couldn't take my $5/$25 Q because my total wasn't high enough (my total was $30 before any Qs). They ALWAYS have taken my $5/$25. I was so ticked off that I almost left everything there. In hindsight, I really should have, but since I was paying with a gift card (that was free with a Rx transfer) I really wasn't paying anything. I did spend a little frivilously, because I found a few cute things to put in a gift bag for Cameron at his birthday party. Here's what I got:

Rite Aid trip (average of 81.62% savings)

I was NOT happy. First of all, they forgot to give me my 2 $25 gift cards for my prescription transfers. So I had to stand there and wait while they tried to figure it out. Then they forgot to give me back my insurance card, which I didn't notice until I got home. Next, they wouldn't take the MFQ that I printed from the Target site, so I overpaid for something. Then, I got the wrong toothpaste (I haven't included it here, because it is getting returned!!). Finally, I had a BOGO Q for Always and should it should have been -$5.29, but she only did -$3.99, which I of course didn't realize until I got home. Oh well, what can you do...

I decided to give CVS a try since they have an awesome deal on Pepsi products this week. I bought 6 12 packs of diet pepsi. The shelf price is $33.04. The sales price is 6/$20. When you buy 6, you get $10 ECB. This is like paying $1.67 each!! That is an amazing deal! Publix Trip- Saved 38%

I didn't have a whole lot to get this week since I really stocked up last week. It was mainly a trip for some staples and a few sale items. The great part was since I stocked up so much last week, our grocery bill this week was MINISCULE compared to what it used to be prior to couponing. Before couponing, we spent as average of $150/week sometimes less, sometimes more. I spend so much less than that now and am forever grateful to my friend Chrissie who introduced me to the world of couponing!

During naptime (thanks for those 3 glorious hours Ryan), I was able to make our entire dinner menu for next week out of things we already had here at home. I had to buy NOTHING for dinner! That was awesome in itself. Here is the breakdown of my weekly shopping trip:

1 gallon Publix Greenwise whole milk- $5.79
1/2 gallon Publix half & half- $3.69
Pepperidge Farm oatmeal bread- $3.29 ($0.50 MFQ) *$2.79*
Publix hamburger buns- $1.19
Red Delicious Apples- (10 lbs for $10) $3.17
9 Healthy Choice Meals- $2.00 each(sale)($5/5 MFQ, $1/2 MFQ, $1/2 MFQ, $1/2 Store Q) *$1.00 each!!*
